We all know those people who are totally involved with themselves. No matter what happens, they interpret each event as it relates to them. It doesn’t matter that they may be lacking in manners or empathy or respect for others. I know people who do not ask the question “What have you done for me?” Instead they ask, “What have you done for me lately?” No matter how much you do for them, it is never enough. And, when the time comes that you have to say “No” to another request, you are done. Out. Forgotten.
Well, today is all about me. Monday I got the high-octane flu shot for those over 65. I have been sick ever since. I love to sleep, but this is ridiculous. And, here it is Saturday, and I have not even thought about my blog. You may have noticed that I love to write. Writing somehow puts my thoughts in order. That’s why I wrote, “Choosing Life.” It’s all about me. And my struggle. And the wonderful way Jehovah God turned my ashes into beauty. It deals with issues most people don’t want to talk about, such as alcoholism and suicide and domestic violence. But is also has an amazing love story spanning 20 years. I wrote it to give others hope. It’s never too late for hope to blossom.
So, since this is all about me, I am including a picture of me taken six months ago. I have not shared a picture before since I am so very anonymous. But God has been kind to me. This picture was taken the day I received my first copy of “Choosing Life.” My dear friend Joan brought me a balloon saying “Congratulations.” I use this photo for my Twitter account, tracymsmith3, and for my facebook page, TracyMSmith. Hope to see you there.
