I like to write, that’s why I wrote “Choosing Life.” Words are the tools of my trade. Words are powerful. Remember, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” “In the beginning was the Word.” At the Great While Throne Judgment, we will have to answer for “every idle word.” That indicates that words, and their meanings, are very important to God as well as to us.
The Politically Correct crowd love to change the meaning of words. We can’t call “terrorists” “terrorists.” How does “freedom fighters” sound to you? I call them “savages.” And “terrorists.” “Terrorism” is now “man caused disasters.” I call the politically correct crowd “disasters” to all people who still have brains and think for themselves. Homosexuals are now “gay.” So if you are really happy about something, you can’t be “gay” anymore. (There is an old movie called “Our hearts Were Young and Gay.”) People who break the law and cross our borders illegally cannot be called “illegals.” They are “undocumented immigrants.” I could go on and on, but the intent is to change the truth, just a little bit at a time
Basically, words have power. They can encourage us and lift our spirits. They can destroy our happiness and self-confidence. Before we had the politically correct crowd, we had something called polite society, with gentlemen and ladies. There were words and topics that were not used in polite society. Some things were private, not for public discussion. Now we hear those words and topics everyday on TV. Jesus said we are defiled by what comes out of our mouth. The mouth speaks out of the goodness stored up in the heart. Or the evil. Our characters are revealed by what comes out of our mouths. These words are now in my head. I have to think carefully and choose my words carefully. I count on God to protect my heart.
